It is an overcast, grey day at Moonstone Beach in Cambria CA. The figures amble slowly along the water’s edge as they look for the the elusive bright spot of rough-tumbled calcedony that gives the beach its name. In the distance, the fog is lifting. Soon the grey skies will give way to blue overhead, making the elusive stones even harder to spot.
