Spanish Creek

Spanish Creek is a stream in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California near the town of Quincy. It is a tributary of the Feather River system and affords beautiful views any time of day. This scene was painted on-site in the morning, when the river’s surface was calm and transparent., long before the usual afternoon winds arrive to stir the river’s surface and make it impossible to see into its lovely depths.
